Teachers

School was always decently entertaining while growing up. Some hated it, others found it fun. I was in the middle, most definitely.
I think, what made school decent for me, was that I had the knack of becoming friends with my teacher. Like, in 10th grade, I had an English
Teacher named Mr.Quark. He was a young teacher, pretty much fresh out of colleage. This was his first year of teaching, and he replaced a teacher that my
whole class dreaded, she had a bad reputation. He was awesome, he liked the same type of music I did, and we got along pretty fine. It payed off, many times
he’d let me slide on a homework assignment or two, and a good amount of the time, we would have a conversation in the middle of class, he was like my favorite
teacher. I also learned a lot, since he believe in discussion in his teaching. It seemed like my grammar and writing improved a lot. When I look back on it, it was those
type of teachers that made school enjoyable.

Sledding

Winter, was always a fun season. For a few reasons, the main two were defiantly sledding, and having snow days. They two always went
hand in hand as well.  When you had a snow day, you’d always put on some clothes, then rush out side with anything you could slide on.
Whether it be trashcan lids, wooden sleds, anything. I was lucky as a child, I had a huge hill behind my house. If I had a snow day, or we
got a lot of snow, I’d call my friends over and we’d spend a whole day just sledding. Although, sometimes it was painful. One time, my brother
who shall remain nameless, ran into a tree, and got pretty bruised up.  Then, after a full day of sledding, you and your friends would go inside
politely ask your mom if she could make you some hot chocolate. You’d drink up the hot chocolate, and just relax the rest of the night away. The good thing
was, sledding was so tiring, you’d almost fall asleep instantly.

Catching Fireflies

Ever seen a firefly? You might think thats an odd question but there are people who have not.  I wonder if people are not noticing them because they are becoming more and more digitally oriented or if there are simply less fireflies these days.

We used to catch them in jars, there were like millions of the bigs, its was like they lit  up the sky!  It was neat to watch them all blinking the jars. Afterwards we  would release them all at once and watch this think mass of blinking bugs!

The Beach

Ahh, the beach, now those were some good memories. The first I always think of when I hear the beach is defintly sand.
I used to spend a whole day down there just making and perfecting a sand castle, I used to have some pictures but they’re
lost somewhere in my mom’s house, one of these days I’ll have to look for them.  My family and I usually spent about 3-5 days down
there every summer. We usually spent the first two days just going down to the beach, swimming all day. That was another thing, waves.
It was always entertaining to let a wave bring you back into shore. Then we usually spent the last day or so walking the board walk.
Playing games, eatting food, all the good stuff. Then you’d always go home, and show off your new tan (Or burn) to your friends, and brag
about your week.

Rolling Skating

I am not a good skater, and I never was. Yet I still enjoyed going to the skating rink. It was fun and the people were happy, and laughing. The girls were cute and the boys watched the girls.  There was soda and nachos but you had to eat that in a separated area.

Often birthday parties would be held at the rink. Those were all very fun. The best part of the rink is that it was so disco like, the strobe lights and the disco ball, the lazer lights! The loud music and spinning is circles! Who needed drugs!! I think it was good fun that you really don’t see in the modern age.

Do kids still go to roller rinks? I do not know, I have not heard teens talking about it, and it seems everything is done in a digital way these days and that roller skating is likely outdated now.
