Recess
Could be the best thing about school was recess. I usually played football at recess, and frankly I got pretty good at it. I could score a goal pretty regularly, not sure if that makes me a good kicker or him a poor goalie.
Either way, it was a good time, and some days we had an extended recess. Always a bonus, this usually occurred in the spring on a nice day after a long winter.
Sometimes I would only stand and chat with people. They had interesting stories to tell.
O and dodgeball was very popular too!
